A Great Red State Success Story....

Yes, the economy is tough all over.  The auto industry got a little boost today with a "hometown boy" winning the Nascar Title today-Especially for Dodge as well.  Here is what is sprouting up in Red States, Alabama, a right to work state mind you and quite honestly I remember when this company first came to America and they were junk. I have owned two from this company (Korean made) and find the quality on par with the best in class.

Check out this video:

Also here is what angers Unions it seems “The South is tough,” he said. Some of it could be “the Southern mentality that I can stand on my own, I don’t need anybody’s help.”

And check out this article from 2011:   http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-06-22/hyundai-teaches-uaw-best-factory-job-doesn-t-need-a-union-cars.html

Notice how everything is in perspective-lower cost of living-people appreciate the jobs-boost to the STATE economy as nearly every county in Alabama has a hand in this business.  And unions seeking to root displeasure setting aside $60,000,000.00 from their Strike Fund.... What, a Strike fund and where did that money come from????

Contrast that growth with what happened to their business in Korea where union strikes threatened their business-by the way the Alabama Plant gained hours as a result of these "strike talks"....

http://blog.al.com/businessnews/2012/08/hyundais_us_exports_fall_25_pe.html

Now this isn't an attack against unions more of a pat on the back to states that have recently gotten aggressive in bringing jobs to their state and been bringing good companies to the plate they can be proud of!

See this is why my family and I are taking the stance we are-not to punish "honest" people but to really SUPPORT and Promote the good things in this Country!!!
Why I might even change my energy drink to 5 Hour Energy for their Breast Cancer Contribution Campaign!!

Hit and Run

Wow!  Just a quick trip to the Grocery Store with the family and did a thorough examination of every product we purchased.  I changed deodorant's and saved $.50 from the kind made in NY.  I changed Charcoal and saved $4 over the brand made in Illinois.  Much tastier lunch meat from NOLA than Hormel.  Yes there were a few challenges and a few that we weren't able to overcome but overall we were able to complete our list, save a little money, continue to buy healthy and support Red State Companies.   Contrary to comments on here that we are consuming less, we are not, we are consuming the same-just less Blue State products!!!!

Clear the Air

Quite a few of you have posed the same type question and same type argument, so this post is to clear the air.  There were also some good ideas as to better focus a "boycott" on actual "bad guys" instead of just harassing a singular state.

"Are you a secessionist?"  No, emphatically, I am a proud American, I support our troops and all of our veterans that have fought to preserve our way of life, to want secession now would totally trample their honor.

"Are you a Romney supporter and just upset your candidate lost?"  No and No.

"You know that xyz products that you are using came from a blue state"  Yes, I am aware of that-but this boycott is about personal current purchasing patterns.  This question has been raised or commented several times and if you have noticed I try to respond to any and all comments, this one has been covered enough now.

"You're an idiot"  I may be, and I am also aware that this Boycott won't shake any change in our country what so ever.  However as Edmund Burke said "All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing"  SO I am doing something.

Ok, someone suggested I actually boycott the corporations that sided with Obama as opposed to "punishing honest people".  As I have stated I am open to ideas so here we go:

Starbucks  haha, I don't drink coffee
COSTCO  no worries, we don't have one here

UPS  mixed bag-about 2/3 of corporate money while $14k cash from employees.  (the ee's I know wouldn't give to either one!)

GOOGLE

Marriott

Dreamworks Animation

Goldman Sachs  though employees heavily Romney.

Microsoft

AT&T

Boston Celtics

Houston Texans -no shock with how much displeasure they have towards Obama as a city.

(source:ABC news)
And I will continue to update, but I found this one interesting.
University of California $1.6 million dollars. And that state is bankrupt.

Also, forgot about this:  Hostess filed bankruptcy, allowed by court to reduce wages to save company.  Union Thugs unhappy go on strike to drive a nail in the Twinkie Coffin.  "Take that you evil company"  as they lose their job when the company goes under.

So I will keep digging and keep sending ideas or items I have missed!!  Thank you!

Good companies to support

Surely enjoying this process, has made me so much more aware of what is made where and whether to support them or not.  Some of my issues with some of these companies goes back quite a while-questionable target marketing, trash advertising campaigns etc...
And really enjoying the "misconceptions" about my stance!  I will clear those next post....

Companies to support:
Chick Fil A
Hobby Lobby
Popeye's
Hyundai/Kia
Honda (certain brands)
C Spire
Valero
Local Non Ethanol Gas Stations
Ace Hardware
Shiner Bock
Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company
Dickies

Tractor Supply....

If you live in Red State-and I have left off some companies-help me add to the list please!

Principled

Ok, I have been asked what are Blue State brands (to boycott) and the Red State Brands to support.  This list will continue to grow as we shop and discover things.
Tonight I am listing the Blue State items first:
Verizon Wireless- NY
Pepsi -NY  (Under PepsiCo there are many brands and not all are Blue State)
Wendy's- Ohio
Burger King-Florida
McDonald's-Illinois
Subway-Connecticut (ouch! those these are typically franchises so open for discussion here...)
General Mills-Minnesota
Target - Minnesota
Ace Hardware -Illinois  (also franchises)
Proctor and Gamble-Ohio
Merck-New Jersey
Kmart/Sears-Illinois
Winn Dixie-Jacksonville Florida (though Bi-Lo is South Carolina)
Kroger-Ohio
Publix-Florida
Domino's Pizza-Michigan
Hormel-Massachusetts
Kraft-Illinois
John Deere-Illinois
Kellogg's-Michigan
Quaker-NY
Post Holdings-NY
Unilevel Holdings-These guys are HUGE and having a hard time finding their corporate office.

Again, this is a short list of things off the top my head.
These are manufacturers that exist in a Blue State and did not do enough to help turn the state Red, or at least spell the dangers of the path our current president is taking.....
Next post will brighten up some things as we look at Red State companies to support!!!

This is NOT a GAME.

A large majority of my friends are shaking their heads in disbelief after this last election.   Pastors who normally don't delve into politics-are preaching it from the pulpit.  Obama supporters are spiking the football and seeking to incite more and more division instead of unity.  I believe GOD has a plan for this nation, I know Jesus is my Savior.  I am not seeking "secession" or violent means for any resolution to the ongoing problems we face.  I will protect my family at all costs though and that has brought me to this blog-as an extension of an idea I have kicked around since last Tuesday-my wife is in this with me-she knows I am crazy but supports me anyway!  (Amen for God fearing Women!).
Here it is, my personal idea-this is just my family.   We will not buy products that are made or have corporate headquarters in Blue State.  At first we were kinda laughing and "aw we can buy from Alabama and Mississippi and other Southern Red States"  Until we started researching corporate offices.  Then that seemed pretty cut and dried until we looked at Verizon-my wireless carrier of 11 years.  My brother used to work for them and swears they act as conservative Red State companies would.  I argue they haven't done enough-and though this one will cause some family divisions I remind myself that This is NOT a game.

Here are the Blue States:  California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida, Washington DC, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

Now, some of these states it does not bother me to boycott, some I have been avoiding already!  Some hit home and will make for some very tough decisions.  The Knoxville Nationals, Eldora and a dear group of Brothers that we so cherish our time together-are all in Blue States. (We will not change where we worship)

Am I doing this as sour grapes? No-this is not a game.  This president has and will further alter the landscape of America as we know it, or at least read about in History books.
"You're just mad your candidate lost" NO I am mad at the fact that as you look at these Blue State you will notice that the majority of the State went against Obama-it was the large metropolitan areas that went for Obama.

Thoughts?
